Elbrus , highest summit of Europe , 5642 m. 
We climbed mount Elbrus during our trip to the Russian Caucasus from July 23 till August 4 2001 
Here we come, Elbrus !  (alt. 2000m) The result! On the roof of Europe... (Alt. 5648 m)

The Caucasus, South view direction Georgia. The start at "The Barrels". 3900 m. This is the first stop were most people stay for acclimatisation...We went higher. Up to "Priut"..
Priut 11  at 4100m  For our first try, we spent the night in this "cabin".
The first try to the summit... Early birds at 4 u.  For our second try, we decided to sleep in our tent.
Finally on the top. Feels great... Daniel on the top, we made it...
Back on our tent. Almost death.....
Glad to take off these plastic boots... This is  what you get when you did the summit :-)
